Martha Hall’s artistic philosophy seeks to explore interpersonal connections between people. Much of her work explores relationships and emotions through figurative elements. Hall's ceramic practice is heavily based in wheel throwing, but she is also an advanced hand-builder. Hall prefers to work sculpturally with ceramics as a medium, but is also proficient with materials such as wood, paper, fabric, and some metals. Hall paints with acrylic or watercolor in her two dimensional works.
With her work, she seeks to create a dialogue with the viewer about the meaning of individuality and how that meaning affects one's place in society. Martha Hall’s work is influenced by her personal experiences and hopes to convey visual representations of her life in the final products.
